Rango Movie Review

Rango Movie Review

Where the Weather Suits My ClothesI don't usually go to a movie during the daytime during the middle of the week but today I went and saw Rango, the Johnny Depp movie that is currently out.  (I am taking a few days of "staycation" and thought this might be a good way to waste a few hours.) I first saw the poster for Rango while we (The Parrot Island Band: a Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band from Atlanta, Georgia) played for the Carmike Cinema National Manager's Convention in Myrtle Beach, SC, last July.

Trop Rock owl? This movie is one part cowboy movie and another part Deliverance. What originally attracted me to this movie was Rango the Lizard in a Hawaiian shirt.  While there is a band of owls, it wasn't quite the Trop Rock music I am used to ;-).  While it was a fairly mindless movie in one sense, it did make a good point that each of us has a purpose that we are called to follow. Often this journey can be filled with danger but there comes a point when we must gather our courage to take on challenges and carry on.

OK, not the best movie I have seen in awhile, but it served it's purpose. Hope everyone is having a Trop-Rockin' day…
